About Blondie's

Four Generations; One Sweet Legacy.
Our story begins in 1924, in a small candy shop tucked behind a family home in Chicago, Illinois. It was there that Ruth, a woman with a true gift for candymaking, opened her doors to the community. She believed in simple ingredients, patient hands, and doing things the right way.
Her two young daughters grew up in that shop, watching their mother stir copper pots, wrap warm caramels by hand, and pour her heart into every batch. Candy wasn’t rushed, and nothing was ever wasted. Everything was made with care.
As the years passed, one of those daughters, Grace, moved west to California. She carried her mother’s passion with her, continuing to make candies from scratch and sharing her homemade treats with friends, neighbors, and anyone lucky enough to stop by.
Grace later had a daughter of her own, Shannon, who found her place in the kitchen baking wedding and birthday cakes for her community. By then, creativity and tradition had become a family language, passed down quietly from one generation to the next.
And then came Blondie. Blondie watched her mother, Shannon, bake and meticulously decorate those cakes with patience and passion. At ten years old, she told her grandmother, Grace, she dreamed of opening a candy shop, long before she understood the legacy she was stepping into.
Before her grandmother passed, Blondie made a promise. She would carry on the family tradition by opening her own candy shop, honoring the women who came before her and the recipes that had shaped their lives.
Today, every caramel we make is a tribute to that promise. Slow-cooked, handcrafted, and made with the same care that began in 1924. Four generations. One sweet legacy.
